Blogs

A key element of a good relationship between provider and customer is knowing about the person behind the business.

With this in mind we decided to create a blog about the two directors of Gosh! Claire and John.

John was an employee of Ozalid for 8 years, responsible for design/drawing office equipment and furniture installations.  He then became Regional manager based in the Midlands responsible for sales and supplies of Drawing Office/Design Office equipment and supplies and General Office products.

Following this John worked for Salex Group/Sound Attenuators for 9 years as Contracts and Projects manager responsible for acoustics engineering installations including TV studios and major construction projects such as Canary Wharf Tower and specialist work in audiology/audiometry suites in hospitals.

Later John worked for UDO as Regional Manager responsible for 12 Copy Centres and branches supplying .

In 1992 John formed Herbert Bridge as a business to business stationery and office furniture supplier. In 1994 he acquired Markham Office Equipment Limited which was merged this with Herbert Bridge.  It was a retail office products town centre store and an out of town b2b showroom, warehouse and distribution centre.

Markham became part of a group and formed Equations Business Supplies with premises in Docklands, Thurrock, Colchester and Luton.

In 2008, John became an agent for Concisely Office Supplies.

Claire worked for 2 years for Education & Youth Services as a Regional Administrator and while there completed NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration.

She relocated to Portsmouth in 2006 and started working as a Response Maintenance Co-Ordinator. Day to day tasks included completing everyday administration duties as well as scheduling work, making appointments with tenants and completing all purchase ledgers for the unit.

Claire decided to leave and work for Saniflex UK Ltd who manufactured bathroom pods for university housing where she managed a team of technicians and completed administration duties.

From there Claire went to First Wessex Housing Group as a Mechanical and Electrical Administrator.  She completed an NVQ in Customer Service and an Effective Minute Taking course whilst she was there.

Claire re-located back to Colchester and started work for Concisely Office Supplies as an Account Manager and Administrator.

In July 2011, Claire and John decided to form a new company which would initially set out to complete Office Refurbishments and provide office furniture.  The whole concept of Gosh Projects was to create the Gosh or Wow factor when someone looks at their office space.

Their objective was to provide excellent customer service, quick lead times and bespoke solutions without compromising on quality.

In 2012, they decided to add another part to Gosh! with Gosh Office after being asked by several old contacts where they could get their office supplies from.

Gosh Office offers next day delivery, FOC, no minimum order needed and deliver throughout London, Essex, Home Counties and East Anglia with their own transport and throughout the UK by overnight carrier.

Welcome to the first of our Gosh! blogs, we thought we would kick off with a short account of our Friday night.

If you are one of our current customers you will be well aware that we are not only excellent fun but we really do care.

We were invited along to a charity quiz night hosted by household name spicer haart who were raising funds for their charity 'Magic Moments'.

If you haven’t heard of Magic Moments they work with children with life limiting illnesses, they create ‘magic moments’ fulfilling wishes to give children a dream come true. Magic Moments also donate money to children’s hospices so they can purchase essential equipment.

Gosh! entered the quiz and our team (which we named Densa) came third out of 26 teams entered! Not bad after a week at work hey!

If you would like to learn a little more about Magic Moments or donate please visit http://www.magicmomentscharity.co.uk/
